Easter

There are various services held to celebrate the Easter season at St Michael’s.

  • Maundy Thursday: Held in the Worship Centre to celebrate Christ’s institution of the Last Supper, this 7.30pm service incorporates traditional and contemporary repertoire and ends with the stripping of the altar.
  • Good Friday: This 9.30am Service which focuses on the death of Jesus is celebrated in the Worship Centre. It includes readings of the Passion, hymns and songs and concludes with the procession of the cross.
  • Easter Saturday Vigil: A reflective service, the vigil takes place in the Church in the evening.
  • Easter Sunday Dawn Service: Held at 6.30am outside near the open tomb, this family oriented service lead by a Band is followed by a supplied breakfast. Cafe 3:16 is also open.
  • Easter Sunday 9.30am Service: Celebrated in the Worship Centre, the 9.30am Easter Service offers a mix of hymns and songs and includes a Processional Hymn with trumpets.

 Christmas

  • Outdoor Christmas Eve Service: Held outside and beginning at 7.30pm, this community event includes a live procession, carol singing provided by a live band and concludes by candlelight. There is a focus on families and children are involved in the service.
  • 11.00pm Christmas Eve Service: Beginning at 11.00pm and concluding just after midnight, this lessons and carols style of service is held in the Church. The pipe organ leads the carol singing for this service.
  • 9.30am Christmas Day Service: Celebrated in the Worship Centre, the Christmas Day Holy Communion Service incorporates well known Christmas hymns and carols and utilizes trumpets and brass instruments.

Advent Banners Worship Centre

Advent Service

To celebrate the beginning of the Advent season, this service is held on the evening of the one of the first Sundays in Advent in the Worship Centre. With a focus on the family, the theme of Advent is developed through music, drama and film. The Children’s choir and Adults’ Choir perform a variety of repertoire and the layout of the Worship Space is altered to reinforce the important aspects of the evening.

 

The hour long service concludes with a shared dinner and cafe 3:16 is open.
